9-3 Aero with a stick. There was one of these up by me a couple of years ago that I should have bought, but chickened out. Regretted it ever since.

Apparently I’m on a kick for sporty wagons with a stick. Seriously considered these for a time as well when I was car shopping a couple of years back.

What about you Oppo? What do you want but will never buy today?

I looked at both when I bought my Vibe. The cost of ownership and the cost of divorce were enough to stay with the Vibe GT (which actually is easily the best car I have ever owned.) I looked at the Cobalt SS Sedan with a 6-speed as well, but knew with one kid already and plans for more the hatch/wagon was the smarter move.

I also wanted a 1.8T A4 Avant 6-speed, but knew better.

You’ll always regret not buying a neat Saab, I know I do.

For what it’s worth, you’ll also always regret buying a neat Saab, from what I’ve been told. So there’s that.

STi hatchback. I wanted one of these so badly when I was looking for a car last year.

The e46 M3 is always on my list and I would have tried to find one last year but realized that I needed a reliable daily.

Why not 9-3 turboX.

E65 7-series BMW. Any would suffice, but I am especially fond of the Alpina.

All of the reliability of a standard 7 series with the added scarcity of expensive performance/ trim bits. oh and those wheels... hnnnnngggg....

For non-car things, I’d say a pet wallaby.

You don’t want it. For a wagon, the rear seat is so cramped is ridiculous... and Saab’s are always having strange ailments that even your Saab independent mechanic will be gambling with the prognosis. Its a Siren car, the tune in your head sounds awesome, later, your wallet will be taken hostage. A buddy of mine had one with 76K miles for a year... and had 5 visits to the mechanic, the last one with all-expensive-possibilities. Sold and got an Acura Wagon

That’s what I’ve heard. Great cars, but a mechanical nightmare. Expensive parts and a motor that doesn’t match any other GM stuff. Best to dream than to make that dream a reality.

Could be worse - could be my mate’s ‘96 Camry wagon with the 1MZ V6. It works... When it wants to. Also, fffffffffff - I never thought I came to hate doing maintenance on the thing and/or replacing knock sensors.

Before you ask, the last owner was an old lady.

This tickled my “good price and could be fun” receptors. No love for EVs overall, but I think one would be fun to run one for a year or so and see how it is.

My step Mom has a 9-3 she drives every day. It’s got to be 10 years old, looks great and has never had a mechanical issue, just maintenance stuff. The seats in back are a little tight, but no worse than most small-ish midsize cars. The 320i I sat in at the car show was miserable compared to the 9-3.

You are not kidding about the alignment. Had mine done not aware of that, because of a minor left pull and it was three more visits to the shop after to get it balanced at highway speed. By the way, guess what it’s doing again? I can’t complain though. It’s quirky, fast, and in a world of Toyotas and BMWs, something different.
